Forty Young’s Guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It’s that time of year again! The one that influencers and their followers across the country look forward to: it’s the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.

If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a sale that Nordstrom hosts every year on items from their favorite companies at amazing prices. I’ve shopped at this sale for years. In my opinion, it’s the best sale there is in retail. Why? Mostly because the discounts are on just released items! They’re on trend pieces that go on sale for a few weeks, then go back to normal prices. So it’s not just inventory they’re trying to get rid of from last season!

I like the latest and greatest – not older items that are on sale just to move products. The sale always has items from brands I love too, like Steve Madden, Free People and Vince Camuto.

I wanted to share a few tips I’m using this year to decide what to purchase:

I’m being pickier than ever about what clothing I’m buying these days. With being home more than ever, I just don’t have a need for tons of dressy clothes. So most of the items I’ve highlighted below are for working from home and casual days.
The beauty and home picks are my favorite. Beauty products very, very rarely go on sale. If you’re interested in trying a new product or you’ve been eyeballing one of these for a while, now is the time to pull the trigger.
Buy the basics. Jeans, sneakers, and tops that can be worn a bunch of different ways.
Don’t fall for all the influencers looking oh-so-cute in things that don’t and won’t work for you and your body.
