Furnishing Our New House in Delray Beach

Our new house is within walking distance to Pineapple Grove which is the Arts District of Delray Beach. We can walk to Atlantic Avenue, the gym and the beach. It’s everything that we wanted in a beach house. It gives us the lifestyle we wanted, it’s the style of house we love and it’s the perfect size. It’s about 2500 square feet, which is perfect for a second home — just enough space but not so much that you get overwhelmed cleaning it. It has 4 bedrooms that each have their own bathrooms, a fenced in backyard and a fabulous pool.

We settled on the house on August 26th. Rob and I felt like kids on Christmas morning driving to the closing. As we drove we were giddy. We just kept saying, “We did it!”

“It” was to make one of our goals come to fruition. And “we” did it together.

Shop till you drop

We had work to do. We had one week to get the household and furniture essentials. We left the kids at home with Isa (our au pair) so we could get as much done as possible without the kids being “bored.” Plus we’d have had nowhere for them to sleep anyway. Rob and I slept on the one mattress we got and threw it on the floor in the master bedroom.

We went to Target at least 6 times and Home Goods twice. Then we visited Restoration Hardware, City Furniture, Crate and Barrel, The Container Store and Best Buy.

Did some serious damage at The Container Store

We actually got a lot more done than we thought we would because we didn’t stop the whole trip. We wanted to get done as much as possible on that first round so we can enjoy visiting as soon as possible. Most of the days we were there we took 20k steps (we stuck with our 75 Hard too!)

A work in progress

Most of the furniture is ordered and we’re awaiting delivery. I had so many DM’s and questions about what we’ve done so I thought I’d share some of what we’ve achieved so far. Take a virtual stroll!

Our cute little laundry room. I used the jars to store pods fragrance booster pellets

I love the little pops of life these plants (fake, I can’t keep plants alive) bring to the modern kitchen. Bowls purchased at Home Goods
