A month ago I was teaching cycle classes at H2L Studio and lifting with my husband at a local gym a couple days a week. Things seemed to have changed overnight and I’ve had to adapt. Although the location of where I was working out has had to change, my fitness routine has stayed intact through at-home workouts.
Please don’t give up on your fitness during quarantine. Give these home workouts a try! Now more than ever, it’s so important to practice home fitness and keep moving. Learning how to work out at home will keep your immune system running strong and give you more energy. It also releases endorphins to leave you feeling better physically and mentally. A good sweat sesh can lift your mood and add a little muscle at the same time.
Home workouts without equipment don’t always have to be a grueling process. We’ve been taking family walks every day, which I think is a great idea! Fresh air, some vitamin D and exercise daily are shown to positively affect multiple aspects of the body and mind. The days that the sun is out, we gather up the fam, lace up our sneakers and head out the door. I’m also making the kids play outside when weather permits. They’re enjoying an 80s childhood, minus the friends, plus Tik Tok!
